Wave Café Board of Trustees
Chair of Trustees

“As a long term local resident and musician, I am excited by the vision of a commercial venture which can provide a new, distinctive venue for the arts in Muswell Hill, to which all are welcome."
Andrew is a writer and former Social Worker
"I was propelled into the world of learning disability a little over thirty years ago when my daughter, Sarah, was born with Down's syndrome. Our family's first thoughts were to make her as independent as possible. Inclusion and knowledge would be the aim for her and us, so that Sarah could lead as full a life as possible. A former social worker and now writer, I became a trustee of the Down's Syndrome Association and school governor of the local secondary school, which Sarah was to attend.
I was delighted therefore to be asked to be a trustee of Wave Cafe, which is a shining example of inclusion and provides a unique opportunity for those with and without a learning disability to work, mix together and socialise in a local, warm and welcoming environment. "
David is the founder of WeJam - the immersive rock star experience.
“I was first introduced to Wave Cafe through London Business School where I helped out on a short term consulting project. I was so impressed with their work that I asked if I could stick around, and it’s an honour to work with them"
Candice is an award winning chef with a wide range of experience in the food industry, from street food pop ups to a corporate client presentation. Brought up in Australia, she started out at some of Sydney’s finest Michelin starred restaurants. As a national athlete in her youth and a qualified fitness trainer now, Candice has important insight into the power of food and nutrition for health, and the value of balanced eating, and her commitment to mentoring and training are especially valuable for Wave Café’s work with interns.
I have worked for over 10 years with children, teenagers, and adults with a range of different complex needs and life experiences. I now combine this with my passion for horses and the therapeutic benefits of being in nature by working as an Equine Therapist and a Child and Adolescent Counsellor. I love meeting new people from all walks of life and when I’m not working you will find me enjoying some cake at WAVE café or busy crocheting something!
